Twilight, the changing moments.
Monday, May 21, 2007

i have to talk about this.
otherwise,
i'm afraid i'll burst,
exploding into tiny million little pieces,
just because of my eagerness to share about it.

I have just read the most captivating fiction story,
in my whole life so far.
the most captivating non-fictional story i know,
in my whole life is obviously the story of my life.
a life that has many journeys to travel with Jesus. =))

the book is called Twilight by Stephanie Meyer.
it is the most ABSURD trip to my imagination.
i have never known that the power of my mind,
and imagination was so ABSURDLY wide.
i have learnt a lot from reading that book.
firstly,
added many alien words to my vocab book.
hahahas.
for the first time in my whole life,
i had to weld a dictionary in my hand,
using it as the next most powerful weapon to unlocking the meanings
behind the story.
secondly,
learnt several realistic qualities.
thirdly,
how much i ADORE reading books.

the story is a love novel,
between a human girl,
and a INHUMANLY BEAUTIFUL vampire,
and how he struggles to open up his life to her,
and be who he is,
a vampire.
on top of that,
he constantly finds himself challenging fate,
striving to keep her alive.

one,
he is a vampire.
and she knows that he thirst for her blood.
yet,
they fell deeply in love with each other.
despite their differences,
and the danger that lurks when he is alone with her.
even though she is a human.
and that was what he loved about her.

his name is Edward.
her name is Isabella,
known as Bella in the story.

Edward.
an INHUMANLY beautiful character that came to life.
flawless in everything he does,
and definately flawless in his unharming gentle looks,
perfect in every single aspect.
however,
he was an immortal of the night.
skin so white,
and not even snow could compare.
he is well built,
muscular and tall.
on top of it all,
he sprinkles his ultimate charm in his personality,
setting girls who glanced at him,
in a unbreakable trance.

Bella,
an imperfect human who is complete in a perfect person's arms.
brave at the breek of death.
fallen at her knees at the words of "Sports" and "Dance".
she smells like faint scents of lavander,
somtimes,
mixed with a little ocean breeze at times.

it's really all very impossible to be able to find someone like Edward,
only that he wasn't a vampire.
the blend of imperfection mixed with perfection,
would just set someone off in a world of absolute imagination.

i finished the book.
yes.
and guess what.
i was kind of,
reluctant to finish reading the book,
not wanting my imagination and fantasy to come to an end,
to such a compelling,
fictional yet realistic,
story and life-line.

i finished the book in 1 week.
there are about...
400 odd pages?
it's pretty amazing that i could finish that amount of pages in one week.

i was really reluctant to finish reading the book as,
it would draw me back to reality,
putting an end to my wild imaginations and facinations.
and in the first time in my life,
i have ever enjoyed myself so much before,
while reading a book.
not to mention,
being engrossed.
so engrossed that whenever i had the chance to read it,
i would.
and that includes dinnertime.

i could feel the emotions,
the romance,
the thoughts and anxiety that they had faced,
in that timeframe.
it was all sur-real.
a wonderful picture painted across my mind.
a meaningful movie,
and moving story.

i find this book really different from those creepy,
vampire or love novels.
it was like,
horror and romance,
blended or mashed together,
and it was being served on a silver platter.
the taste of it was rather unique and ADDICTIVE.
it's like i've taken a dosage of heroine.
firstly,
the story talks about how this family of vampires were
turned into vampires,
one by one.
they were either turned into one due to an accident,
or,
an attempt to save their lives.

next,
they don't melt in the sun.
they GLIMMER LIKE DIAMONDS under the sun.
how awesome that sight would be.
they can shine like a rainbow,
reflecting off the Sun's rays in many different colours.
thus,
obviously,
they prefered not to walk in the sun,
otherwise,
they would be a natural walking hazard to
many people who were on the road,
or to those who stared.

thirdly,
they don't sleep in coffins.
they don't sleep.
AT ALL.

forth,
they don't live in dark gloomy areas.
they live beside a meadow,
with a river flowing beside it,
and it was the best scenery all of Forks (the town they were in).
they were rich,
intelligent,
and all beautiful,
graceful,
and talented in each of their ways.
they had enough money to afford EXPENSIVE cars,
and a 3 storey house,
which sweet warm colours.
expensive cars as in,
silver volvo,
a red BMW,
a big JEEP.
the house on the first floor was nothing but a grand piano beside the stairs.
walls were pale coloured,
and most of the house was made of entirely nothing but glass.

i'm pretty much guessing that you're really interested to read the book now.
hahas.

fifth,
they do not hunt humans.
they hunt wild animals,
for blood.
food lah.
they are still attracted to the blood scent in humans though.

sixth,
they have super speed,
can't fly,
all very strong,
ABSURDLY,
INSANELY perfect in their appearance.
some of them have special powers like,
the ability to read minds,
or predict the future.

seventh,
they play BASEBALL during a thunderstorm,
in a clearing far from town,
so the rain won't get them.
they use aluminium bats,
and play the game at turbo fast pace,
with actions happening faster than a blink of an eye.
like i said,
they are very strong,
so they have to play in a storm when the thunder's there,
due to the massive strength they had,
and a sound like thunder would be heard when the bats smashed the baseball.

IT'S ALL SO INTERESTING.
my favourite came to when he started to talk to her,
and their journey started,
all the way until the baseball game.
they met in the only high school in Forks.

i learnt a lot in the story.
how interesting a storybook could be,
and certain qualities that i can learn from Bella.

1. she was fearless even at the face of death.
2. she accepted Edward the way he is and not caring or bothered by the fact that he was a vampire.
3. she loved Edward with all her heart, and even though she was more vulnerable than them, she feared the worst for him.

i really want to learn from her these qualities,
especially in my walk with God.
being fearless at the face of death.
wow.
talk about the power of love.
and it's love that kept Jesus hung to the cross,
to die for our sins.

right now,
standing at the chagrin of my mind,
that i pray and hope that God would take me,
in my life,
a journey that could be as captivating as the story of that book.

just like this book,
i want to be engrossed with Jesus,
in love with him 25-7.
hahas.

i hope you caught my joke.

i'll stop here for now.
there's much to learn even from the little things around us.
never stop what God is doing in your life.
press on people!
for the greater purpose and destiny that God has installed for
ALL OF US. =))

amen.

danced for Christ.
